WILBERT HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING AND WILL BE GOING ON A SLEEPOVER!

Update!!! First of all, let us say that Wilbert is just the right size, just the right temperament, just the right age and just the right activity level - he is just right! Wilbert can be a great cuddler and will sometimes just walk over to his foster mom and lay his head on her chest give her a hug. He is eager to please, knows his name and will come when called. But our little Wilbert is not overly needy or clingy, he can be independent too because after the cuddles he is content to go curl up alone on the couch. When foster mom is watching TV, Wilbert will curl up somewhere and take a nap. He has a very calm temperament and so far is very quiet. When foster mom is at work, Wilbert is fine being in his crate. He is coming along with his housetraining, but part of the follow up to his heartworm treatment is a course of prednisone which has increased his need to go. We are optimistic his housetraining grades will soar higher as we are now backing him off the dose. One of Wilbert's joys is chewing on a massive bone that his foster mom gave him - it's bigger than he is! There are no problems at all with the other dog in his foster home and he is friendly to other dogs and people he meets on walks. What a great addition to any family looking for a "just right" dog!

What a precious little dog Wilbert is! Perhaps a little skinny and a little uncertain, but so ready to trust and love and to be your dog. When you look into his eyes, doesn't he seem to be saying, "Will you? Will you be good to me? Will you give me a home and let me love you forever?" We are so happy to give him that chance and we know it will happen for him! Wilbert will soon be settling into his foster home and we will be able to share more information about his personality and temperament. He tested positive for heartworms but we already have him at our vets to be neutered and treated.
