ADOPTION PENDING


If the great wizard, Gandalf from the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Dennis the Menace from the old funny papers had a baby, he would be just like Oatmeal.  He’s an old soul with an ornery streak.  One minute you think he’s pondering the plight of his people in Mordor, and the next, he’s bringing you your favorite sneaker from the closet.

Oatmeal is delightfully housebroken, doesn’t bark much, and doesn’t mind staying in a crate while his foster mom is away.  He plays nicely with the other dog in the house and enjoys milling about the backyard romping and chasing lizards. 

On a scale of 1 to 10, he’s a 5.5 on the cuddler scale.  He will follow you around and he likes to be close, but only now and again will he curl up next to you and put his sweet little snout on your chest.  He appears to have recently discovered how nice belly rubs are and wants nothing more than to lick the remnants of Cheetos or salted peanuts off your fingers.

He could use some leash training and he loves his toys but could use some direction and oversight regarding what is appropriate to play with. Oatmeal is generally a pretty mellow boy and likes to take naps.  He has an adorable howl as well that seems to appear around the same time the cheese comes out of the refrigerator.

Oatmeal is heartworm negative, and his neuter surgery is scheduled for 8/28.
