ADOPTION PENDING
Fiona is one of the beagles we rescued from Mississippi who lived in outdoor boxes with chain link fencing for flooring. When she arrived on March 1st, she was very fearful and submissive, so we gave her time to become more trusting and in the meantime took care of her heartworms. Her foster mom and dad have done such a wonderful job of bringing her along and now we are looking for the right family to give this precious little girl the love and security she so deserves. Fiona would do much better in a home with another dog who will be her friend and help her to continue to grow in confidence. She is still a little skittish, but she does like to be petted and loves to curl up against her foster dad on the couch. She lets her foster dad know when she wants him to pick her up for a snuggle. Fiona takes frequent walks with her foster dad and the other dog in her foster home and she is good on leash, but we do think she would be safer with a fenced yard. House training has gone amazingly well and, although her foster family lets her on the bed, she will sleep in a crate. Fiona is so ready to be loved - she just needs gentleness and patience. Her foster family has gained her trust and she is a lot less skittish with them but it will take her some time to adjust to a new family.
