PETE IS ON A SLEEPOVER WITH A POTENTIAL ADOPTER!!
Pete is a handsome little guy who spent far too much time in a shelter in Louisiana before he came to us at Southeast Beagle Rescue. When he arrived at his new foster home, he came directly from the vet’s office where he had been neutered and treated for heartworms. Understandably, at that point, he was shy and confused about what was going to happen to him next. Pete is now learning that he is safe and no one is going to hurt him. Each day he develops a little more confidence in himself and his surroundings. He likes his crate, is crate trained, and sleeps quietly when he is in it. Pete gets along well with the resident dogs in his foster home and has chosen to totally ignore the cat’s offer to play and be friends. It appears he is ok around cats.
Pete walks nicely on a leash and in true beagle style puts his nose to the ground to investigate all of the new smells. Pete loves to eat and is currently learning that going to the bathroom outside in the yard means lots of praise and a tasty treat as a reward. He wags his tail and enjoys having his chin and ears scratched by his foster mom and the grandchildren (age 5 & 3) who come to visit his foster home. Pete will be a wonderful addition to any family.
