Clara II is with us as a HOSPICE Foster because of the great kindness of one of our volunteers. She saw Clara at a local shelter and asked if SouthEast Beagle Rescue might take her in. We immediately said yes. We are working to treat her eye issues medically as she would not withstand surgery. In layman's terms, the lens in her right eye became unstable and actually moved through the pupil into the front of her eye. The pressure in that eye is painful and we are trying to lower it and alleviate her pain with three different eye drops and two oral medications. She is seeing a wonderful doctor at Veterinary Eye institute and we will do all we can to give her a pain-free existence. Clara does sleep a lot but she also enjoys poking around in the yard and sniffing like all beagles do. She's a tiny little thing and her foster mom loves to pick her up and cuddle her. We have currently spent just a little under $1,000 so far on her medical care.
