UPDATE:12/28/22-Hiccup has been in his foster home for 2 weeks. The foster mom said that Hiccup is initially shy with people but takes to new dogs right away. It took him about a week to start getting comfortable and trusting with the people. He loves being in the fenced yard where he can run around. He would do best in a calm home with another dog(s) with a fenced yard. He is doing very well with house training. He is fine in his crate but has been left in the house with no one at home and did not get into any mischief.
Hiccup and his friends, Sprocket and Widget were found as strays in rural Alabama. No one claimed them and we were contacted and asked if we could take them. Fortunately we had enough foster homes available and said YES! At this writing Hiccup has only been with us for about a day so we have much more to learn about him. So far we can share that he is very timid with people and unfamiliar with being on a leash. He will take treats from your hand and definitely has a beagle appetite! Hiccup is in a foster home with a lot of other dogs so hopefully he will gain confidence and learn from the other dogs that humans can be kind and even fun! Hiccup is neutered and heartworm negative but we will have him checked by our vet and microchipped. We will need to get to know his personality a little better so that we can find the right home for this cute little dude. Please stay tuned for updates!
